The Poly, as it is known by the Rensselaer community, was first published in 1869 and has been in continuous publication since 1885. It originally featured lengthy articles on scientific and technical subjects, along with news about students, alumni, and campus activities. It later focused on student activities and campus affairs. Since 2018 most issues have been published online.
