This publication provides guidelines to define the life of LED components and systems used in general lighting, including methods for measuring life and sample data recording sheets. These recommendations have been developed as a first step toward establishing standards for LED lighting components and systems and to help manufacturers present consistent information to purchasers and end users of LED systems.August 2007 Revision: Issue 3 and Issue 6 of this volume have been revised to show additional temperatures at which LED systems should be tested in some cases.April 2006 Revision: The "Proposed Definition" section of Issue 7, "Recommendations for the Definition and Specification of Useful Life for Light-Emitting Diode Light Sources," has been revised for clarification.
