This issue discusses a new recommendation for evaluating the performance of parking lot luminaires, following the concept of application efficacy. January 2010 Revision: This revision adds new analyses and calculation methods for using the Luminaire System Application Efficacy (LSAE) metric to evaluate multiple luminaires per pole and multiple poles within a parking lot; and for correlating LSAE values to energy usage. The revision also includes information about trade-offs between optimizing the pole mounting height for a given luminaire and optimizing the LSAE value.
