The Quarterly was intended as a “means of intercommunication to the Alumni, Faculty and Undergraduates.” The lone issue (Vol. I, No. 1, May 1884) presaged the content of The Poly, with articles on mining, oil viscosity, well water, ellipses, and the business aspects of engineering. There are also brief notes regarding several professors, and a complaint about the lack of contributed articles, which could explain its demise.
